Obituary of Theresa Marie Boudreau

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Theresa, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and beloved wife of Albenie. Theresa passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 10th 2017 at Saint Martha's Regional Hospital in Antigonish surrounded by all of her family. Born on April 2nd 1930 in Louisdale, Theresa (also known as "Saint Theresa" or "Mother Theresa") was the daughter of Evangeline and William Marchand. Known for her devotion to God, Theresa lived her life faithfully and instilled this faith in her family. In her spare time she could be found at the BINGO hall, home knitting socks and quilting, or playing her nightly card games of Crib and Rummy while watching the HABS. She devoted her time as a life time member of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch 47 St. Peter's for 30 years as well as the Home Crafters of Cape Breton for 25+ years. Theresa is survived by Albenie, her soul mate of nearly 68 years; Her five children Alfred (Darlene), Rosemarie (Ronald), Sylvia (Garry), Sheila (Russ), and Angela, all of Louisdale; 10 Grandchildren, Colette (Nick), Jason (Julie), Rene (Julie), Wesley (Karen), Deanna (Todd), Amanda (Vince), Krista (Dwayne), Holly (Jon), Zachary (Jessica) and Shelby; 15 great-grandchildren; Siblings Daniel, William, Cornelius (Jacqueline) and Pricilla (Charles); and numerous nieces and nephews who she considered to be children of her own. Along with her mother and father, Theresa is predeceased by sisters Maude, Irene, Katherine, Celina; brothers Raymond, Anthony, and Lawrence; Grandchildren Geraldine and Ronald Samson. We wish to thank Dr. Philip Cooper (whom she considered her angel) and Dr. Laurie McNeil; Richmond County Homecare Support; EHS Paramedics; Strait Richmond Hospital Emergency Department; Saint Martha's Palliative Care Doctors and Nurses; Father Gary MacPherson and Father Callistus Abazie. Visitation will be held Sunday May 14th, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 in the Glen Sampson Memorial Room in Louisdale. Funeral mass will be held on Monday afternoon at 1pm at St. Louis Catholic Church, Louisdale. Burial to follow at the St. Louis Parish Cemetery. Reception will be held following the committal, in St. Louis Parish Hall in Louisdale.Family flowers only please. Memorial donations can be made to St Louis Parish Hall Renovation Fund or to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Unit. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of C. H.
