Obituary of Bernard Lawrence Samson

It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of Bernard Lawrence Samson "Bernie", of Petit de Grat, that occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on November 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Louisdale, he was the son of the late Joseph Raymond and Margaret (Cross) Samson. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150 in Arichat and also the Retired Teachers Association. He is survived by his wife Eula Rose of 53 years; daughter, Carla (Dean) Samson-Martell, Pondville; grandchildren, Samantha and Aaron; sisters, Mary (Herman) Samson and Zelia (Jocelyn) Poirier both of Louisdale. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Brent Samson and a sister in infancy. Visitation will be held in C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Petit de Grat, on Wednesday, November 22nd, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Burial to follow in the Star of the Sea Cemetery in Petit de Grat. A reception will take place at St Joseph's Parish Hall in Petit de Grat, following the burial. Memorial donations can be made to St. Anne Centre. The family would like to extend a Special thanks to Palliative Care Doctor Bob Martel, family doctor Laurie MacNeil and all the nurses involved in Bernie's care. We would be remiss in not mentioning a great couple who were there for us during the last three years. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd. in Arichat.
