Obituary of Ambrose Joseph Dorey

It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Ambrose Joseph Dorey, 72, of West Arichat, announce his passing on Saturday, January 13, 2018 in the Victoria County Memorial Hospital in Baddeck. Born August 24, 1945, he was the son of the late William and Evelyn (Covin) Dorey. Ambrose enjoyed flea markets in the summer and didn't miss a card play. He also enjoyed hanging around with his cousin Leonard Dorey and friend Lawrence Cormier. Ambrose is survived by his daughters, Eileen Browner (Robert), Nadine Evans (Ryan) both of Vancouver; sons, Gerrard and Brian, both of Alberta; grandchildren, Makayla, Aiden, Kai and Tristan; brothers, Thelma (Betty), Raymond (Melda); sisters, Violet Bonin, Kathleen Dorey, Zita Boudreau (James LeBlanc), Evangeline Dorey, Leonard Lavandier, all of West Arichat. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, David, Joseph and Arthur. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat on Saturday morning, January 20, 2018 at 11am with Rev. Michel Exalant officiating. Burial will take place in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in West Arichat at a later date. A reception will be held at the Acadiaville Hall in West Arichat following the Funeral Mass. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat.
