Please share a memory of Alfred Remie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Boudreau, Alfred Remie, Martinique

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Alfred Remie Boudreau, age 90 years, who passed away peacefully on December 27, 2018 at his residence in Martinique. Born August 2, 1928 in Petit de Grat, he was a son of the late Ernest and Rosanna (Samson) Boudreau.

Remie was a great husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He always made sure his loved ones were taken care of before himself, and he instilled many core values in his family.  He was also a wonderful friend to all of his coworkers at Booth Fisheries, where he worked and provided for his family for over 30 years.  Those 30 years took a toll on his back later in life, yet he never complained and greeted everyone with a warm smile and a compliment.  Remie was a strong Roman Catholic who believed in the Catholic Church, and he made it a point to attend mass regularly. Even in his final years when his mobility diminished, he would always have his TV tuned to the weekly / daily mass station at air time.  Known affectionately to many as Grampy, Remie loved watching WWE wrestling, playing bingo, and he always enjoyed a competitive game of cards with whoever was willing to play. He is an inspiration to us all, and he will be missed dearly.  The family extends their heart-felt thank you to family, friends and home support workers whose care and kindness allowed Remie to fulfill his wishes of living the final years of his life in the comfort of his own home.

Left to mourn his passing are sons, Joe (Rose), Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Brian (Rhea), Pondville; grandchildren, Darcelle, Josh, Danielle, Grant, Dominique, Gabrielle and Joseph; great grandchildren, Heather, Quinn, Zane, Simon, Logan and Emma; sisters, Lena DeCoste (Leonard), Arichat, Melda Boudreau, Petit de Grat.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida; brothers, Norris and Jeff; sisters, Elise and Delima. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday June 28th, 2019 at C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat. Funeral Mass to Celebrate the Life of Remi will be held Saturday, June 29th, 2019 at St. Joseph's Church in Petit de Grat with Rev. Michel Exalant presiding. Burial to follow in Star of the Sea Cemetery, Petit de Grat. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Limited in Arichat, N.S.
