BABIN, Harold Alexander - West Arichat
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Harold on April 11, 2025, which occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston, with his loving family by his side.
Born June 26, 1932, he was the son of the late Francis Howard and Melinda (Poirier) Babin.
Harold had many careers as a cook on the tugboats, a waiter at the Ashburn Golf Club, and owner and operator of an oil delivery business for 17 years serving Isle Madame and surrounding areas. In addition, he fished gaspereau in Margaree for years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Credit Union in Petit de Grat.
Harold enjoyed his daily walks along with his wife Anna and they were often seen on Babin’s Hill and area.
He will be missed by his loving wife Anna Marie (Cormier) Babin of 65 years; daughter Sheila (Tim) David, Bedford; sons Bruce Babin, West Arichat, and Chris (Lisa) Babin, Loudonville, New York; grandchildren Lauren Arseneau, Michelle David, Brett Babin and Nicholas Babin; great-grandchildren Audrey, Nora and Charlie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Harold was predeceased by brothers Velma, Howard, and sisters Alva Babin and Genevieve Marchand.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Anne Community and Nursing Care Centre or to a charity of one’s choice.
