BRIAND, Martin Joseph - Louisdale It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Martin J. Briand which occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on May 3, 2025. Born on October 25, 1945, in L'Ardoise, he was the son of the late Duncan and Cecelia (Pottie) Briand. He was a member of the ATU Local 508, Halifax, NS. He is survived by his loving wife Lorraine Maryann (Frotton) Briand for the past 60 years; daughter Sharon Briand; grandchildren Clairesse and Spencer Brian all of Edmonton, Alberta; brother Vernon Briand (Joyce), Lower Sackville; sisters Awilda Bentau, Halifax, Delia Sage (Brian), Ontario, Carol Watson (Kim), Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Jeanet Church, Richmond British Columbia. There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass to Celebrate the Life of Martin will be held in St. Louis Church, Louisdale, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11 am with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Committal to follow in St Louis Columbarium, Louisdale. A reception will be held in the Lion's Den, 3128 Whiteside Rd., in Louisdale. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., Arichat.
