Obituary of Andrew Joseph Meunier

MEUNIER, Andrew Joseph, West Arichat It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Andrew Joseph Meunier of West Arichat, which occurred at his home in West Arichat on May 24, 2025. Born September 8, 1945, in West Arichat. He was the son of the late Raymond and Eva (Fougere) Meunier. We say goodbye to a man deeply loved by many. Andrew AKA “Uncle” or “Boy” was a hardworking, smart and talented man who always offered a helping hand. Uncle loved dancing, a good laugh and always cracking jokes. Uncle had an undeniable gift for working with his hands. He was creative and always busy. He could fix just about anything-from cars to boats; he loved carpentry including building several houses but working as a welder for many years was his true passion. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, taxidermy, and going for drives in his favorite Ford Ranger. He had a soft spot for dogs and loved a good chocolate bar. Uncle was a devoted Husband, Father, Uncle, and Pepe, and will be greatly missed every single day. In true Andrew fashion, when on the phone it was rarely “bye” but “yeah yeah Merry Christmas”. Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Joanne (Hibbert) Meunier; daughters, Darlene Meunier (Gordie), Port Royal, and Kelly Hibbert (Todd), West Arichat; son, Andrew (Sheila) Meunier, Philippines; grandchildren, Tylesia Meunier, Tyler Meunier, and Riley Charron; great granddaughter Payton Meunier; sister Juliette DeYoung, West Arichat, and many nieces and nephews. Along with his closest friend and cousin Ralph Fougere. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Anndrelyn Meunier, brother Carol Meunier; and infant sister Shirley Ann Meunier. His family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Laurie MacNeil, Dr. Scott MacNeil, and Stella Maris Pastoral Unit (OLA Parish). Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation per request. A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday June 4th, 2025, in Our Lady of Assumption Church, in Arichat at 10:00am with Rev. Dwaine Devereaux officiating. Burial will be at West Arichat Columbarium. No reception to follow. Memorial donations can be made to St. Anne Community & Nursing Care Centre, in Arichat.
