Condolences
My condolences to the entire family, I wish I could’ve been there for her funeral. Helen took care of me and my brother many times when we were growing up, when we got older she enjoyed her walks and visits to our house. She was a second mom to me and I will never forget her smile and her tea biscuit’s. She was so kind and caring and we had many laughs together, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Miss Nellie I will never forget our time together wether it was cleaning your room or seeing you in the dining room at the maples May you rest in the sweetest peace, my condolences to friends and family
To all Family members,
So sorry to learn of Nellie’s passing. As residents of Mount Cameron Circle, we saw Nellie a lot. Nellie was an active person while residing at the Maples. Whether it was at the exercise room, viewing a movie, walking daily, sitting outside or enjoying herself at a pub function, Nellie was game for enjoyment and conversation with all.
Nellie had a wonderful life. It is our hope that fond remembrances by her many friends at the Maples, her family in Arichat and here in Antigonish County will help you all in the days ahead. Indeed, Nellie was an inspiration to all.
Robert and Debbie, Antigonish

Rene, Colleen and family; Our sincere condolences on the passing of your Mom. I’ll never forget the visit to Petit de Gras, and the little yellow house where she welcomed us so warmly. A happy smiling face and pleased to see us, your friends from Alberta. I know she is still happy, in the company of her husband and relatives and friends who greeted her with joy as she arrived in heaven. May all the good memories stay in your hearts and comfort you.
Dear Rene, Tina, and Richard, I was sadden to hear about Helen's passing I am sending deepest condolences to you and your families, Helen is with the angels. Sending prayers to all. Love Ann (Thomas) and Aubrey Shepard, Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia
As we all mourn Helen's passing, we think sadly of the family, her wonderful siblings Richard Rene and Tina and other members of her immediate family. Helen was a wonderful soul and beautiful lady inside and out. I remember her as a very dotting, and caring Mother. Very often she would visit my Mother,( Agatha) She was a delight. Always pleasant with many smiles and fun gossip. As the years went by, I moved away but I missed her visits. When I returned home for a visit, Helen would always invite us for her famous biscuits and tea. Gosh, did I miss that ? But the move to the Maples was such a wonderful playground for her. She was so happy there. Helen will be with Rene her beloved and favorite dance partner finally. R.I.P. sweet Helen, you will be missed.
I only knew you for a short while at the Maples. I will miss your smile and conversations as my seating buddy at dinner and also seeing you walk the halls. Rest in peace Nellie
My sincere and heartfelt condolences to the Marchand family on Nellie's passing. I was shocked to hear of this as I would visit The Maples every Tuesday when I would show a video concert or movie in the theatre, and Nellie would be there to enjoy the show after she gave me a big hug/kiss and stuff some candies (Werther's Originals) in my shirt pocket. She was a warm , beautiful and special lady and I was happy to have met her and enjoyed her company the past few years. I will remember her and the family in my masses and prayers as you mourn her loss. God bless you all ! In sincere sympathy. Joe Chesal (Antigonish)

To The Marchand Family
Had Lots of visits with your mom at the Maples while visiting my mom. She was Always happy to have a visit. Her and mom always sat in the lounge together and chatted. Mom is going to miss her. Hang on tight to all your memories with her. Take care xo
Helen was my 3rd Grandmother for as long as I can remember. We always spent time together at Family Events, talked on the phone, and when we briefly lived in Antigonish last year we used to bring our cat Boxer for visits. Helen would always say,” I think he needs to pee Lisa, he looks like he needs to pee!” Even though he was in his carrier. My phone would ring and it was Helen, I would pick it up and she would say, “Is Jordan there? “. She would tell Jordan to come by for a beer haha it was noon. I remember being a child and Helen made me a Barbie Birthday cake. It was a real Barbie, her ballroom style dress was made of icing. I felt like the luckiest girl on earth it’s a memory made by Helen I will never forget. Helen never complained, about anything. I have a memory of seeing her sitting at the table, colouring, with 2 broken arms. And not a complaint.
What I would give to go to the lounge and have another beer with her, her proudly introducing us to all of her friends.
To her family. Thankyou for sharing Helen with us. Our families are better people for having our 3rd grandma in our lives. We will make sure her memory always lives on.
Lisa, Jordan and Boxer the cat.
You were my dad’s mom, the heart of his family, and because of you, I have the life and the people I hold most dear. You raised a son who became an amazing father, and through him, you helped shape who I am.
You created the roots of our family, and your love runs through all of us; steady, and strong. Because of you, we laugh together, we hold each other close, and we know what it means to be part of something bigger than ourselves.
Thank you for your love, your legacy, and the family you built. You can now enjoy whacking Mackerel on the side of the boat while Pepe is pulling up Red Rabbits.
Wishing you clear skies and calm waters. ❤️
