MCGRATH, Wilfred Mitchell, 60 of Janvrin’s Harbour
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Wilfred Mitchell McGrath of Janvrin’s Harbour, which occurred at his home on June 22, 2025.
Born March 1, 1965 in Arichat he was the son of Mary Gertie (George) and the late Wilfred Matthew McGrath.
Mitchell was an electrician by trade, known for his easygoing nature, and the ever-present tunes playing in his car as he made his rounds through the island. If you ever saw a man behind the wheel, windows down, music up- you might’ve caught a glimpse of Mitch living life his way. He was a father, a friend, and a truly one-of-a-kind soul. Quick with a story, generous with his time, and always ready to help. Mitch touched the lives of many, often without even realizing it.
Besides his mother Gertie, Mitchell will be sadly missed by his daughter Maggie Dorey (Curtis Morgan), West Arichat; brothers and sisters, Angela Woodman, Janvrin’s Harbour, Dianne Martell, Hampton, New Brunswick, Wade McGrath, Arichat, Debbie Morrison, Petit de Grat, Judy Landry (James), Bruce McGrath, (Susan), both of Janvrin’s Harbour, Connie LeBlanc, (Ronald), Port Royal, Lucy Landry (Clinton), Arichat. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father Wilfred Matthew McGrath, Mitchell was predeceased his sister Sonya McGrath; brother Fabian McGrath; brothers-in-law, Bob Woodman and Nazaire Martell; sister-in-law Colleen MacIsaac and special nephew Kirk LeBlanc.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation per request. A funeral mass will take place in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Arichat on July 7th at 2pm with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. A reception to follow at the Acadiaville Community Hall in West Arichat.
Memorial donations in memory of Mitchell can be made to the family.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd. in Arichat. Tributes, words of comfort and memories of Mitchell may be shared with the family at www.chboudreau.com
