BRIAND, Joseph Bartholmew “Bart”, Petit de Grat It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Bart which occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on June 27, 2025. Born November 11, 1933 in Cape Auget, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Eva (LeBlanc) Briand Bart was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 150, Arichat. He was also a member of the New Horizon’s Seniors Club in Arichat. He was very funny, and loved playing cards, bingo and crib. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his family, Bart was predeceased by wife Lisa; sisters, Bernadette LeBlanc, Agatha LeBlanc, and Alfreda Boudreau; brother Velma. There will be no visitation per request. Funeral Mass to Celebrate the Life of Bart will be held Monday afternoon at 1 pm in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat with Father Duaine Devereaux officiating. Burial to follow in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 150 in Arichat. In lieu of flowers Bart would like Masses to be given in memory.
