Obituary of Laurie Anne Jones

JONES, Laurie Anne, 73 of Arichat We regret to announce the death of Laurie Anne Jones of Arichat which occurred on July 2, 2025 at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston. Born on September 15, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Helen Jean Dempster and Daniel McTavish. Leaving Ontario and starting a new adventure in Nova Scotia proved she lived her life to the fullest. She was a free spirit and the life of any party. She had the kindest heart and loved by all. Laurie Anne is survived by her daughters Amanda Harris (Dan), Burford, ON, Sarah Hamilton (Stephen), Windham Centre, ON, Lisa Chetwynd (Rob), Prince George, BC; grandchildren Alexandria, Westen, Cooper, MacKenzie, Thomas and Ash; brothers William Jones, Hamilton, ON, Mark McTavish, Port Dover, Ian McTavish (Chere), Hamilton, ON; sisters Mary MaGarrey, Hamilton, ON, and Susan Chase, Springhill, NS. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband Gary Jones and brother Alex Jones. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral per request. A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 150 on Thursday, July 10th at 2pm. A future celebration of life will be held in Ontario at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Laurie Anne can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd. in Arichat.
