It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Edward Ronald "Ron" Boudreau on July 23, 2025 at his home in Arichat. Born December 28,1957 in Arichat, he was the son of the late Lionel and Jean(LeBlanc) Boudreau.
Dad was a heavy duty mechanic by trade and worked at Richmond Fisheries until the fish plant closed due to the collapse of the cod fishery. He started a scallop aquaculture farm when the industry was new. With his love of the ocean and boating and his interest in aquaculture he became very knowledgeable. He worked at Université Sainte Anne Marine Centre for many years as an aquaculture technician. He loved his job and spoke very highly of his coworkers. He had recently retired.
Dad had a love of all sports. He was an excellent baseball and hockey player. He played both from a very early age. He played baseball with the Petit de Grat Red Caps and senior baseball with the St Peter’s Royals and played hockey at the Richmond Arena with a local team.
Dad was also a deep sea diver and had extensive knowledge of the ocean. He was happiest when he was at sea. He loved to fish and teach the kids how to fish. He loved teaching others about Isle Madame, telling unbelievable detailed stories and making people laugh. He loved to sing and play guitar and his song to his daughter was « Daddy’s little pumpkin ».
