MADDEN, Magdalena, 102 of Arichat
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Magdalena Madden of Arichat that passed away on August 17, 2025. Born in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late Adrianus and Maria Catharina (Venedall) Van der Bunt.
She is survived by her daughters Maria (Trevor) Edwards, Nora Paterson, Mahagie (Gail) Proudfoot, Lynn MacLean; son Edward (Barb Elwell); 17 grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews from her large extended family.
Besides her parents, Magdalena is predeceased by her husband of 57 years Daniel O’Connell Madden; daughter Alice Madden; brother Henk Van der Bunt; brother and sister in laws. She was the last surviving member of her immediate and extended family.
There will be no visitation or funeral mass per request. A private family graveside will take place on Wednesday, August 20th in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery in Arichat. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Down Syndrome Society, Pay it Forward Angel Fund or to the Strait Richmond Kidney Dialysis Unit.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat.
