Obituary of Jasmin Marie Mellen

It is with immense sadness that the family of Jasmin Marie Mellen announce her passing. After losing her courageous fight with cancer, Jasmin gained her wings with her family and friends by her side at St. Martha’s hospital on August 26, 2025 Jasmin will be lovingly remembered by her partner Blaise Marshall(Eskasoni), parents Christian Marshall and Carmen Marshall both of Potlotek. Siblings Tara Mellen, Leann Mellen, Valarie Marshall, Christian Marshall and Kristine Marshall all of Potlotek, Skyler Peck, Pictou, Gerald Googoo, Jackson Googoo, Elis Googoo, Wastow Googoo, all of Wekokmaq, Alexa Syliboy, Eskasoni. She is also survived by her nieces Aurianna, Amelia and Kiera, nephews Edwin, Beckham and Baby J. Maternal grandfather Edwin Morales (Boston), paternal grandmother Valerie Bowers(Halifax), great grandparents Valerian Marshall and Cecelia Marshall both of Potlotek. Aunt Mina Morlaes (Boston), Godmother Mary Theresa Battiste(Potlotek). Sisters at heart Mariah Lévesque, Karina Doucette and Kennedy Marshall, along with many aunts and uncles. Jasmin is predeceased by her beautiful sister Kendall Marie Marshall and her niece Emiera Marshall (Potlotek); grandmother Lillian Marshall (Potlotek) grandfather Gerald Pardy (Newfoundland); uncle Edwin Morales (Potlotek); godfather Lester Johnson . Visitation will take place at her mom Carmen’s home at 42 New Subdivision Rd, Potlotek Nova Scotia, from Sunday August 31 at 4:00pm until 10am on Tuesday September 2. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday morning at Immaculate Conception Church, Barra Head at 11am with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery. A salite will take place following the burial at the Potlotek Community Centre. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd. in Arichat.
