SAMPSON, Angus Joseph of Louisdale
It is with a heavy heart to announce the sudden death of Angus Sampson of Louisdale that occurred on September 11, 2025.
Angus is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Michele (Jollymore) Sampson, Louisdale; mother Patricia (Deveaux) Sampson, Ontario; sisters Sharon (Brent) Larman, Ontario, Noreen Boudreau, Arichat; furbabies Marley and Sky; daughters Nikki Landry, Ontario, Pammy Boudreau, Alberta; grandchildren Taylor, Nico, Leland, Jace; nieces and nephews, Chantelle (Richie) DoCanto, Tyler (Ashley) Larman, Kyle (Grace) Boudreau, Ashley Clorey (Jacques Samson); great nieces and nephews; nephew-in-law Preston Clorey; many aunts and uncles and his parents- in-law Patricia and James LeBlanc, Stellarton.
He was predeceased by his father Rudolph Samson; nephew Zachary Larman and his furbabies Tanner, Rascal and AJ.
He was a son and a brother who loved his mom and sisters. He was very protective of them and was in numerous fights as kids when other kids picked on him or made his sisters cry. He wasn’t perfect, he wasn’t an angel but he made his own trouble whether with others or by himself, but you never messed with his family.
He took on the role as father to his daughters Nikki and Pammy. He instilled his beliefs, his work ethic and everything in-between. He would say he did the best that he could. It wasn’t easy for them or him but know matter what they always knew that he loved them with all his heart. He loved his grandchildren making memories at the beach, taking them to the fortress of Louisbourg, going for take out or just cruising around. He enjoyed watching them putter around the property on our 4 wheeler or riding lawn mowers.
Another title was Uncle. He was proud of his nieces and nephews. Watching them grow and have their own families. Being apart of their accomplishments, whether he was near or far away, they knew he loved them.
You could never get a “normal” picture of Angus, he would either make funny ears behind your head, make faces or stick up his middle finger. He had numerous friends that he considered family, especially the Linden and Delorey crew and their spouses. His brothers from a different mother Tony and Perry Marchand, their mother Bessie would kick one of them out of bed and give Angus their bed and a barf bucket for the night. He always looked forward to their calls and giving them both a hard time. Stan and Linda LeBlanc who always had a couch for him to sleep on arriving with his black garbage bags of clothes and taking good care of him.
In his early years, Angus travelled across Canada and was a jack of all trades. His main work was putting up the red iron. He was a carpenter and a roofer when he couldn’t find work as an iron worker. He tendered with cars as a pastime in his later years. He was a mentor and a teacher. He taught a lot of people his trade and how to do it the right way. It was his way or get lost. Angus worked hard and played harder. His motto was “you can’t take it with you”.
Angus was an outdoorsman. He loved camping, driving around with his wife and furbabies, visiting family and friends, receiving the latest gossip or pulling into a stranger’s driveway because something caught his eye, so he just had to try and make a deal. When he was out and about you would think his wife never bought him clothes. He was always seen in holey, paint stained, burn marks, oil and greased stained t shirts and shorts, lets not forget his jogging pants and sweaters.
If he wasn’t in the shed he would be on the computer watching reels on facebook, which when he fell asleep, it was always on Bad Chad grinding something and hearing that repeat all night until the computer finally shut off. He loved youtube videos to help him figure issues out on cars.
He was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back or lecture until you either tuned him out or left after the lecture. Angus was a phone call away to help when needed and never asked for anything in return. He could also get your blood boiling by intentionally getting you mad, but as soon as he had you fuelled up, he’d smirk and have a twinkle in his eye which made you more mad because you fell for it.
He will be profoundly missed by his loving wife Michele, his best friend, soul mate and travelling companion of 28 years. She was his rock, his supporter, his everything and his “maid”. She was his caregiver for the last few months of his life and assisted with everyday things. They had 28 years of memories together. The good, the bad and the ugly, as Angus would say, no one else would put up with him. His mother always said to him “Michele needs a medal for putting up with you”.
His final day was being in the shed “his happy place”, sipping on his Disaronno and telling his best friends/ brothers Larry, Dwayne and Pat how to put the camero Z28 back together. With his wife by his side till the end and the help of Tiffany and T-Boy for support. He died peacefully looking at his wife.
The family would like to thank Dr. Akinboro, Dr. Gillis, nurses Leslie and Nadia for all your compassion and helps. We are very much appreciative for everything that you did.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Angus life will take place at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., in Arichat.
