Obituary of Leonard Ambrose Doyle

DOYLE, Leonard Ambrose, 67 of Arichat It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and godfather Leonard Ambrose Doyle of Arichat, formally of Rocky Bay who passed away on November 1, 2025. Born in Arichat, he was the son of the late Louis Ambrose and Mildred Amelia (Hendsbee) Doyle. He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years Mildred Ann (Hearn) Doyle, daughter Marsha Doyle (Shaun Martell); son Shane Doyle who he loved all very much. Leonard was a dedicated hard-working man, always providing for his family and putting them first. Always willing to lend a hand whenever he could. He was an avid collector of the Tim Hortons hockey cards and a true Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Leonard’s carpentry work demonstrated precise craftsmanship. He enjoyed playing games of darts, 45’s and crib and he also had a knack for gardening. Every morning he went to visit his Aunty Mae and they would have a cup of tea. Leonard’s family would like to take the time to thank Dr. MacNeil, Dr. French, continuing care and his niece Jennifer Forgeron and brothers Clifford and David Doyle for their care and support. Leonard is survived by his loving wife Mildred Ann (Hearn) Doyle, daughter Marsha Doyle (Shaun Martell); son Shane Doyle all of Arichat; brothers Clifford (Darlene), Poulamon, Wayne (Jo-Ann), D’Escousse, Rodney (Catherine), Guysborough, David (Gwen), D’Escousse; step brother Doug (Vicky) Anderson, Canso; sisters Connie Doyle, Canso, Judy Doyle (Barry), Half Island Cove, Lisa Doyle (Alvin), Antigonish, Colleen (Ron) Bond, Fay (Lloyd) Richard, both of Canso; step sister Honey O’Leary, Half Island Cove and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Leonard is predeceased by his stepbrother Austin Munroe and step sister Mae MacLellan. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral mass per request. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the family. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat.
