Landry, Marie Claire Age 83 of Petit de Grat, Nova Scotia It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, mémé, and grand-mémé, Marie Claire Landry (Boudreau) on November 16, 2025. Claire will be lovingly remembered by her husband Vincent Landry, Petit de Grat; children Debbie Marchand (Claude), Petit de Grat, Gerry Landry (Ann), Grand-Dique, N.B., Wanda Landry (Sean Dey), Ottawa, ON.; grandchildren Brittany Marchand, Brandon Marchand, Jordan Landry (Sonya), Kayla Chiasson (Remi); great grandchildren Zachary and Mila Claire Chiasson. Survived by her siblings Mary Kehoe, Zita Perry, Robert Boudreau, John Boudreau (Addean), Theresa Boudreau (Merrill), Debbie Martell (Blair), Claudette Doucet (Terry). Claire was predeceased by her parents Cyril and Idella Boudreau; siblings, Adam, Kenny, Louis, and Adolphe; In-laws Eric Kehoe, Leo Perry, Pauline Boudreau, and Yvonne Boudreau. Claire will be remembered for her sincerity, kindness, and generosity. She met her husband of 65 years, Vincent at the age of sixteen while working at Booth / Richmond Fisheries. She worked and raised her young family until the Fisheries closed in 1993. Her family was particularly important to her and raising her three children was her greatest achievement in life. She adored her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and God- children and the love they had for her was immeasurable. Her community was especially important to her and her dedication to her church was evident in her years of service to the Catholic Women’s League since 1962. Claire was the happiest when she was cooking for large family dinners, baking, playing cards (Pay Me), and flea markets. She had a wonderful sewing talent for taking remnants of material and creating fabulous, colorful blankets that she shared with family and friends. She absolutely loved Christmas and enjoyed filling her home with decorated trees, ornaments, and lights during the holidays. Claire had such a warm smile and welcoming heart that family and friends frequently dropped in for a visit. If the table was full of snacks, baked goods, quarters and playing cards, it was a Saturday night Pay Me game. She loved to have fun and the sounds of laughter around the table made her the happiest. She was the mother figure, the matriarch, not only to her children, but to her siblings as well and her absence will leave a void that will be difficult to fill. Thank you for all that you have taught us mom, mémé, matante, nanen! We will carry you in our HEARTS forever. The Family would like to extend our sincere gratitude and thanks to the Victoria General Hospital and Doctor Stephanie Heibert; Cape Breton Regional Hospital Cancer Centre and Doctor Graydon Lucas; The Saint Anne Centre; The Palliative Care Team and Doctor Lisa Gillis and a special heartfelt thanks to all the Continuing Care nurses who extended such compassionate care to Claire during her illness.
