Obituary of Arthur Fitzgerald Johnson

JOHNSON, Arthur Fitzgerald, 59 of Potlotek It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Fitzgerald Johnson of Potlotek that passed away on December 1, 2025. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Charles Arthur and Mary (Isaac) Johnson. He will always be remembered by his beautiful smile, he always wore a smile. Arthur loved to joke around with everyone and liked to make people laugh. He was always willing to help those in need. Arthur will be greatly missed by his uncle and best friend George W. Johnson and also his bestie Viney Sapier. He will also be missed by his niece Amanda and Ekkian. He met a lot of great staff at the CBRH dialysis unit in which he became good friends with. Arthur had worked for Potlotek First Nation for a number of years as a fisherman, in which he deeply loved doing was fishing, he also was in council for couple of terms and his last job was working with Potlotek Public Works. He also worked in the pulp industry for many years and also in construction. He enjoyed hunting at Hunters Mountain with his Swistak family and his brothers and his boys. Arthur loved going to card games with his uncle and has met a lot of people that he called friends. He and his wife were foster parents for many years, they have brought children into their home and took care of as their own. Arthur was a very humble man with a big heart, he will truly be missed by his wife and children, grandchildren and his siblings, nieces and nephews. Arthur is survived by his wife Marcia Johnson, Potlotek; sons Jolley (Kait), Potlotek, Arthur (Jenna), Sydney, Shaun (Devy), Eskasoni; special daughter Mooh; daughter April; grandchildren Aaron, Milani, Jacob, Zamien, Harmony, Majgeta, Renesmee, Adele,Jada and Bella; brothers Dominic, Wayne (Helen), Sidney John, all of Potlotek; sisters Sarah (Gregg), Doreen and Leah all of Potlotek. He is also survived by his Godchildren Mooh, Randy, Ashley, William, Matthew, Violet, Andle, Chuck, Candace, John Noel, Theodrick and Landen. Besides his parents, Arthur is predeceased by his granddaughter Jordyn Maryssa; sister Kristal; brother Danny Swistak; father in law Andrew Johnson, Godchild Eric and son Ray Morrison. Visitation will be held at the Kateri Tekakwitha Chapel in Potlotek on Monday, December 8th at 3 pm until December 10th at 10:20 am. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 10th at 11 am in St. Peters Catholic Church, St Peters, with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. A Salite will be held at the Potlotek Community Centre in Potlotek following the mass. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat.
