Obituary of Daniel Kenneth Poirier

Please share a memory of Daniel Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with sadness that we announce the death of Daniel Kenneth Poirier of Lennox Passage which occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on December 21, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Born November 10, 1952, in Arichat, he was the son of the late Daniel Theodore “Teddy”, and Exilda Mary (Fougere) Poirier. Daniel was a caring and loving husband, father, and uncle who brought laughter wherever he went. He had a quick wit and a warm sense of humor, often joking and teasing in good fun, particularly with his twin brother by his side. Their bond was strong, and their time together was always filled with jokes and laughter. Dad loved fun and energy, and his house was rarely quiet. Music was almost always playing, and he truly enjoyed having a houseful of people, laughter, and good times. Those gatherings reflected who he was — warm, welcoming, and happiest when surrounded by others. When Daniel retired from Stora in 2011, he then turned his attention to animals. If it came to the door, it got fed — whether it was one of the feral cats he looked after or the birds he faithfully cared for in the backyard. His kindness extended quietly and naturally. Dad took great pride in a shiny car, and waxing it was one of his favorite pastimes. He loved being outside, especially in hot weather, soaking in the sunshine and enjoying simple moments. When it came time to relax, a deck of cards was never far away. Dad loved playing crib, particularly with his brother — and with Mom and me as well. If one of us won, Dad would always say he really won anyway, because he was the one who taught us how to play. Daniel will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, his generosity, and the love he had for his family. He leaves behind many cherished memories and a legacy of laughter that will never be forgotten. Daniel will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Andrea Ruth (White) Poirier; son Devin Lee Poirier (Rachel), Edmonton, AL; brother Donald Poirier (Shirley), Poulamon; sister Donna Bona (Rene), West Arichat; Aunt Phyllis Paon (late Harold), nieces, nephews and extended family, too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his parents and infant son Adam Eugene Poirier. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service at this time. A graveside service will be held in St Hyacinth Cemetery in D'Escousse at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations Daniel would like a random act of kindness be shared with others. Feed an animal, help a neighbor, share a laugh, or do something small that brings warmth to someone’s day. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd. In Arichat.
