Obituary of Chris Anthony Babin

Please share a memory of Chris Anthony to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chris Anthony Babin, age 55, on December 30, 2025 in Albany, New York with his loving family by his side. Chris was the beloved husband of Lisa (Samson) Babin for 32 years, and a devoted father to his son Nicholas (Marie) Babin, both of Latham, NY. He was a cherished son to his mother, Anna Babin of West Arichat, and a loving brother to Sheila (Timmy) of Bedford, and Bruce Babin of West Arichat, father-in-law Leonard Samson (Halifax), mother-in-law Gail Samson (Halifax), and sister-in-law Shelly Landry (Halifax). After moving out west, Chris and Lisa made their way to New York State to seek better opportunities to support their growing family. It was there that Chris truly thrived in his engineering career, carving out a reputation built on hard work, dedication, integrity, and professionalism. Chris began his career as an electrical designer and went on to study for and successfully earned his Electrical Engineering designation in New York State, a significant achievement. Chris worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer with Hesnor Engineering, where he had been employed since 2011. He was deeply committed to his work, his boss, T.J., and his colleagues, who always treated him with the utmost respect. Lisa and Chris embodied the true meaning of “love at first sight” after meeting on Quinpool Road in 1990. They were best friends and rarely left one another’s side. Lisa was the most dedicated and loving caretaker to Chris throughout the many health challenges he faced over the past several years. Chris’s proudest accomplishment, apart from his special relationship with his wife, was his son, Nicholas. They were inseparable and spent countless hours together, with Nicholas following in his father’s early footsteps and becoming an electrical designer. Chris’s influence and dedication as an outstanding father will live on in Nicholas forever. Chris loved to stay active and enjoyed his daily lunch walks with his co-worker, Lauren. He was also a proud member of a bowling club, where he and Lisa made many friends and happy memories. Chris had a sincere and special presence—anyone who spent time with him always left feeling better. He was simply that kind of person. He will be remembered as one of the kindest, smartest, and most charismatic individuals. Chris will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy of kindness, love, integrity, and devotion to family will live on through all who knew him. Chris was predeceased by his father, Harold Babin of West Arichat. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Kahn, Dr. Rassias, and ICU Nurse David for the exceptional care they provided to Chris. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association. Cremation has taken place. In honor of Chris’s wishes there will be no services. Burial will take place in St. Louis Cemetery, Louisdale on July 14, 2026 with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac officiating.
