Obituary of Mary Rosanna Resch

RESCH, Mary Rosanna Mary Rosanna Resch was 83 years young. She was born in Louisdale, NS on October 18, 1942 and passed away on February 23rd, 2026 at the QEII Hospital in Halifax. Rosanna was a loving wife to Phillip Resch and the 1st born child to Eugene & Rita Marchand. She was predeceased by both her parents, her husband Phil and her brother Cyril. She is survived by her two younger brothers, Blair (Janis) & Eugene Marchand and her sister Janet. She is also survived by her oldest son Vaughn (Joy), her son Bradley (Shairleen), her daughter Tracy and her youngest son Rodney (Joanne), along with her grandchildren Julia, Hillary, Emily, Dylan, Jacob, Mackenzie, Keegan and her Great grandchildren, Zachary, Jayde, Kyle & Killian. Rosanna grew up and went to school in Louisdale but she left school early after Janet was born. Being the oldest, she was needed to help her mother take care of her 3 rowdy younger brothers and her baby sister, while her father worked construction. Rosanna was very well known for her talents in sewing which she learned from her mother Rita and her aunts. She became quite proficient as a seamstress and went on to sew clothing for her children, wedding and prom dresses, baptism dresses, mending, hemming and making blankets and quilts. She went on to use that talent for several small businesses including Rita’s Outerwear and Multi Mesh. She owned and ran several other businesses throughout her career to make extra money and keep herself busy. In her later years Rosanna embraced gardening, growing both flowers and vegetables and canning everything she could store in the basement. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her siblings, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family friends. Being a wife, a mother of 4 children and a big sister to 4 siblings, she was always taking care of someone in some way or some how. Rosanna was a devoted wife and mother and a cherished friend. She will be missed by all that knew her. Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 7th at St. Louis Parish Church in Louisdale at 11am with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Louis Parish Cemetery. A reception will follow at the St. Louis Parish Hall. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of NS. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat.
