Samson, Jaret Louis “Frenchy”, 48 of Cape Jack It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jaret Louis “Frenchy” Samson of Cape Jack that passed away at his home on March 19, 2026. Born in Arichat, he was the son of the late Louis Albert and Mary Antoinette (Samson) Samson. Jaret is survived by his partner Sarah MacDonald and her daughter Hope Deveau, both of Heatherton; sons Tyler Olsen, Edmonton, Caileb and Kiean, both of Cape Jack; brother Keith Samson, Sampsons Cove; nephew Nathan Oliver, Sampsons Cove; Godson Zachary and his bonus son Drake Polley. Besides his parents, Jaret was predeceased by his brother Shawn Joseph Samson. Jaret was a retired veteran of the Royal Canadian Military, having served his country with pride in Bosnia and Kosovo. Following his military service, he earned his electrical certification and later worked in fiberglass, supporting local fishermen. The sea was a constant in his life, and he spent many years working aboard fishing boats, a way of life he deeply valued. Jaret loved watching sports, especially cheering on the Edmonton Oilers and the Toronto Blue Jays. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place on April 4th, 2026 at the Little Anse Social Action Club from 12-4pm.
