FOUGERE, Marie Annette, 70 of Poulamon
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend on April 13, 2026, at her home in Poulamon.
Born in Arichat, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Lucille Jeanne (Landry) Benoit.
Annette began her professional career as a Respiratory Therapist, working in Moncton as well as in Strait Richmond and Sydney. She later chose to pursue a new path in healthcare, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Francis Xavier University. Annette went on to serve the province in a variety of administrative roles, including Administrator at St. Anne’s Nursing Care Centre. She concluded her distinguished career as a Placement Coordinator for the Province of Nova Scotia.
Throughout her life, Annette worked not only to build a meaningful career but also to support her many creative pursuits. She had a deep love for crafting, including cross-stitching, tole painting, card making, knitting, and sewing. A devoted and family-oriented woman, Annette cherished time spent with her husband of 50 years, her children, and her grandchildren. She was lovingly known as “Meme” to those closest to her.
Annette will also be fondly remembered for her beautiful singing voice—heard often by members of the local parish and by anyone fortunate enough to be a passenger in her car.
Annette is survived by her loving and devoted husband Allan Fougere, Poulamon; sons Joey (Jonquil), Poulamon, Frank (Cassandra), St. John, N.B., Rene (Dawn), Poulamon; grandchildren Zaara, Anita, Lily, Lincoln, Brennan and Ava; brother Pierre (Heather) Benoit, Lawrencetown; sister Claire (Laurier) Nobert, Rocky Mountain House, A.B., Monique Benoit, Cole Harbour; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Annette was predeceased by her grandson Jerome Fougere in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on May 1, 2026 at C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Funeral mass will take place on May 2, 2026 at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat at 11am with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Committal to take place at a later date in St. Hyacinth Cemetery, D’Escousse. A reception will follow the mass at the Civic Improvement Centre in D’Escousse.
