It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Ernest "Ernie" Gurney of St. Peter's, formerly of Rocky Bay that occurred at his residence at the Richmond Villa on June 21, 2015. Born in Arichat, he was the son of the late Charles Ernest and Mary Ida (Richard) Gurney. Ernie is survived by his son Chris (Lyn), Rocky Bay; grandchildren, Megan, Brittney and Will; sister, Marie Paon (Alfred) Poulamon. Cremation has taken place. Visitation in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Wednesday, June 24th from 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat on Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Douglas MacDonald officiating. Burial to follow in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery in Arichat. Reception to follow the committal in the Rocky Bay Irish Club in Rocky Bay.. Memorial donations can be made to the Richmond Villa or St. Anne Centre Recreation Fund.
