Obituary of Clifford Bernard Marchand

St. Peter's/Louisdale MARCHAND, Clifford Bernard 77, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2015 at the Richmond Villa in St. Peter's. Born in Louisdale he was the son of the late John William and Mary Rose(Marchand) Marchand. He was a patient, kind and compassionate person who faced many obstacles in life. He loved fishing and hunting, hockey and baseball. Clifford was a former member of the NSTU and the Louisdale Lions Club. He graduated from St. F.X. University in 1960. He began his teaching career in Baddeck, N.S. followed by 27 years of teaching at SAERC. He was a devoted teacher who loved his students but the challenges and pressures of teaching caused him to retire due to illness. He loved teaching but his family was his priority. He is survived by Cheryl Ann Marchand (Baigent), his 3 children and 10 grandchildren whom he dearly loved; daughters Nadine Dunseith (Bruce), Calgary; sons Clarey (Meredith), Ottawa, Trevor (Rachel), Eastern Passage; brothers Herman (Carmelita), Lennox Passage, Donald (Diane), Lower Sackville; sisters Julia Cordeau, Evelyn Kraitzek (Hubert), both of Louisdale, Marilyn Groom-McNamara (Noel), Grand Greve, Sylvia Hopkins (Jackie), Louisdale, Janice McKinnon, Port Hawkesbury and sister-in-law Donna Marchand, Louisdale. He was predeceased by his brothers Ronald, Douglas; brothers-in-law Arlin Cordeau, William Groom and Joseph MacKinnon; nieces Chelsea Marchand and Shelby Gerrior and sister Patricia in infancy. Visitation will be take place in the Glen Sampson Room, Louisdale on Tuesday Nov. 3rd from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A celebration of life will take place on Wed. Nov. 4th at 11 am a.m. in St. Louis Church with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Committal to follow in St. Louis Parish Cemetery followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. A special thank you to the Staff at the Richmond Villa for their compassionate care and to brother Herman (Carmie) for his dedication and devotion to his brother. Memorial donations can be made to St. Louis Parish Cemetery Fund, Shelby Shine's On, or to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to, C.H. Boudreau Funeral Ltd in Arichat.
