Lake Loon/Arichat SAMPSON, John Andrew Raphael "Ralph", 84 - Lake Loon, formerly of Arichat, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2015 at home in Lake Loon surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born in Little Anse, Ralph was the son of the late Albert and Mary Virginia (Sampson) Sampson, and he will be sadly missed by his wife of 59 years, Lydia (nee Binet), Lake Loon; daughters, Sherry Seaboyer (Dale), Woodstock, NB, Lavonne Carroll, Dartmouth, Andrea Sampson, Toronto, ON; sons, Michael, Bridgewater, Andrew (Sarah), Lake Loon; grandchildren Kristen, Martin, Jonathan, Steven, Sarah, Vanessa, Mathew, Zachery, Madison, Quincy, Luke and Noah; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, sisters, Edith Marchand, Margaret Landry and Yvonne Field all of Louisdale, Martha (Bob), Toronto, ON; brothers, Alfred (Barbara), Halifax, Leopold (Eileen), and Harold (Linda) both of Louisdale. Ralph was predeceased by his sister, Mary Marchand and brother, Leo. Born into a large family Ralph began working early, he was a quick learner and always interested in fixing what was broken or finding out how things worked. This natural curiosity turned into a career when he joined Imperial Oil as a young man. Beginning as a deck hand, Ralph progressed to become a Marine Engineer and was a valued crewmember throughout his 36 years of employment. Retiring early, Ralph then became known for his skill at cooking and many fondly remember "Uncle Ralph's Fried Chicken", his seafood chowder and skinny chips just to name a few of his specialities. To honour Ralph's memory, a Celebration of Life will be held at his residence in Lake Loon on Saturday, December 5th from 11 - 2 pm. Friends and family are invited to remember his life and celebrate his memory along with his wife Lydia and their children. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral Service will be held in C. H.
