Obituary of Kayla Lynn Cotton

COTTON, Kayla Lynn- Louisdale, It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, cousin and friend Kayla Lynn Cotton at the age of 26, as the result of a motor vehicle accident on December 1, 2015. Born on February 9, 1989 in Antigonish, Kayla was the daughter of Vaughn and Diane (Boudreau) Cotton, of Louisdale. Besides her parents she is survived by her brother Jacob, Louisdale; paternal grandparents Richard and Edna Cotton, Louisdale; maternal grandmother Pam Richard, Poulamon; maternal great grandmother Marion Boudreau, Pondville; many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends. She will also be sadly missed by her soul mate Cody Forgeron and her fur baby Marley who she loved with all her heart. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Glenn Boudreau; maternal step grandfather Ernest Richard; great grandparents Edward and Delta Sampson, Harry and Margaret Cotton, and Gerald Boudreau; she was also predeceased by her aunt Glenda Cotton. Kayla was a teacher at the Felix Marchand Education Centre in Louisdale. Graduate of St. FX in 2013 and was currently completing a Masters of Education in Special Education. She loved her students, her family and especially her little brother Jacob. She was a vibrant young woman who had an infectious smile that lit up any room. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She made such an impact on everyone that knew her. She enjoyed boating, softball, biking and family card games. She loved all of her friends, especially her "Boo", Terrance Tyrrell. Kayla will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Visitation will take place on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm in St. Louis Church and on Saturday from 12 am - 12:45 p.m. in the Glen Sampson Room, Louisdale. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Louis Church, Louisdale with Rev. Callitus Abazie officiating on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Reception will be held in St. Louis Parish Hall, Louisdale. Memorial donations can be made to the Breakfast Programs at Felix Marchand Education Centre or to Richmond Education Centre and Academy or to WE Day Act of Kindness Initiative.
