Obituary of Muriel Mary Martell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel Mary Martell, 77 of Louisdale that occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on April 30, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Born in Louisdale, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Arthur and Mary Roseanna (Boudreau) Marchand. Muriel was inseparable from her husband Joe who cared for her dearly. She adored her three grandchildren immensely and loved spending time with them. She was a homemaker who dedicated her life to taking care of her parents, Arthur and Rose. However, her favourite career choice was being a mom. She loved baking, knitting, bingo, wrestling, watching her favourite NHL team, Montreal Canadians, and her favourite baseball team, Toronto Blue Jays. Muriel enjoyed her train trips to Toronto. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Joseph Henry; daughter Wanda MacNeil and sons Jeremy and Jared, Louisdale; son, Gerard (Madelyn), and daughter Marisa, Toronto; brothers, Arthur (Edna) and Wilfred, (Claire), both of Louisdale. Muriel was predeceased by her son-in-law, Freddie MacNeil. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in the Glenn Sampson Room in Louisdale on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Francis De Sales Church in Lower River on Thursday morning at 11 with Rev. Callistus Abazie officiating. Burial to take place at a later date in St. Louis Parish Cemetery in Louisdale. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Hospital Palliative Care Society.
