Obituary of Joseph Eugene Samson

Samson, Joseph Eugene, Petit de Grat It is with sadness that we have to announce the death of Joseph Eugene Samson, age 80, of Petit de Grat that occurred at his home surrounded by his loving family on June 21st. Born in Petit de Grat, he was the son of the late Theophile and Bertha (Sampson) Samson. Eugene was a former employee of J.R. Bower & Son Construction and was a member of the United Brother Hood of Carpenters Local 1588. He is survived by his loving wife Claire (Lavandier) Samson; daughter, Paulette (Kevin) Marchand, Arichat; sons, Stephen (Joann), Riverview, N.B., Leslie (Heather), St. John's,N.L., Paul (Wanda), Evanston; grandchildren; Brent, Sarah, Aaron, Emma, Kyle, Nicholas, Jaydn, Lauren; great granddaughter Emily; brothers Theophile (Lucille), Petit de Grat, Gerry (Linda), Arichat; sisters Nora (Alcide) Landry, Petit de Grat, Marie (Arthur) Samson, Louisdale. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Delta Landry. Visitation will be held in C.H.Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Thursday from 3-9pm. Funeral Mass will take place in St. Joseph's Church in Petit de Grat on Friday morning at 11am with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Cremation to follow. Reception will follow funeral mass in St. Joseph's Parish Hall, Petit de Grat. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society. Many thanks to Dr. Laurie MacNeil, Dr. Scott MacNeil, Dr. Sue Robinson, and the caring staff at Strait Richmond Hospital.
