Obituary of Albert Joseph Sampson

Please share a memory of Albert Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend, Albert Joseph Sampson, of Louisdale, who passed peacefully on, August 21, 2023, with his loving family by his side, at the Strait Richmond Hospital. Born on October 19, 1953, to the late Annie May and Joseph Sampson. Besides his loving parents, Albert is predeceased by his brothers, Dave and T-Boy; sisters, Rhoda and Lorraine and his two angel sons, Ashley and Justin. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Brenda Sampson; son, Trevor (Courtney) Sampson; granddaughters Abbigail and Brooklyn Sampson; sisters, Sylvia, Shirley, Florence, Viola, Eleanor, Marlene; brothers Gary and Frances; many nieces and nephews; lastly, his furry four-legged side kick, Bella. Albert was a proud and dedicated member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters, Local 682, in Sydney for 49 years. He was also a member of the Louisdale District Volunteers Fire Department Hunting Club for many, many years. Anyone who knew Albert knew he could be found each morning at the Cottage Bakery, enjoying his morning coffee, sharing stories with his coffee club buddies of hunting and fishing, but never sharing the location of the “honey hole”. Although Albert may have not shared his locations, he graciously and openly shared his knowledge and skills of hunting, fishing, and trapping, with his three sons and all their friends. This was Albert’s true love and what he cherished most; his family. Both his granddaughters were the center of his world; if Papa couldn’t fix it, no one could - including sewing the holes in their pants. He would make daily phone calls to his son, Trevor, while working away, to reassure him the fishing gear was ready, apples were picked, and deer blinds were ready to go for when he got home. Albert truly had the biggest heart and always made sure those around him were taken care of. He will be missed beyond measure. Our family would like to extend our gratitude and a heartfelt thank you to all the Doctors (Dr. Okeke, Dr. Hanspal, & Dr. DeRoach) and Nurses in the Emergency & PCU departments at Saint Martha’s Regional Hospital, as well as the Palliative Care Team at Strait Richmond Hospital. Dawn Oliver, of Family First Medical. Finally, Lesley LeRue, who went above and beyond her call of duty; thank you will never be enough. At Albert’s request, there will be no visitation or church service. Cremation has taken place and there will be no burial. Memorial donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Strait Richmond Hospital, St.Louis Parish Louisdale, or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., Arichat. Tributes, words of comfort, and memories of Albert may be shared with the family at www.chboudreau.com
