Mary Kathleen Dorey, Arichat It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Kathleen Dorey of Arichat that occurred at her residence in St. Anne Centre in Arichat on February 3rd, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born on December 8, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Covin) Dorey. Kathleen was born and raised in West Arichat. She had spent her early working years at Booth’s Fisheries. Years later she was employed by St. Anne’s Centre. She worked at the old Hospital and then moved to the new St. Anne’s Centre, where she was an Environmental Supervisor and Activity director for over 30 years until she retired. She was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150 Auxiliary. Kathleen was famous for her story telling. She acted out her stories and made everyone laugh, that made her happy. She loved playing cards, her game shows, bingo, dancing and old country music. Once in a while she would play a little tune on the piano. The last 17 months, St. Anne’s Centre was her home where she enjoyed being with her new extended family. She loved going for her weekly drives with her daughter Sheila whom she adored. Kathleen was a devoted Catholic praying with her St. Anne’s prayer beads and reading her prayers in her books was a must daily. She will be greatly missed by her family whom she loved and cherished and also her St. Anne’s Centre family. She is survived by her loving daughter Sheila Boudreau, West Arichat, (Rankin MacLeod), Blue Mills; grandchildren, Andrew Boudreau (Angele), Frankville, Ashley Stewart (Ryan), New Glasgow, step grandchildren, Kyle MacLeod, Port Hawkesbury, and Kory MacLeod, Blue Mills; great-grandchildren, Skylar Stewart, and Shay Stewart, both of New Glasgow, and Vaughn Boudreau, Frankville; brothers, Thelma Dorey (Betty), and Raymond Dorey (Melda), both of West Arichat; sisters, Evangeline Levandier (Leonard), West Arichat, Violet Bonin, Petit de Grat, and Zita Boudreau, West Arichat.
