Obituary of Mary Eleanor Briand

It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Mary Eleanor Briand, 87, of Pondville South, announce her passing on Sunday, January 21, 2018 in the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston. Born September 14, 1930 in Petit de Grat, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Mary Jane (Landry) Boudreau. Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Diane Nicholls (Merv), Truro, Rosaline Forgeron, Pondville, Patsy Dorey (Leonard), West Arichat, Carol Covin (Howard), Dartmouth; son, Curtis (Cindy), Sydney; grandchildren, Kimberly Ann, Dana Jean, Melissa, Conrad, Tiffany Boudreau (Grant), Jacinta Read (Chris), Vanessa, Trevor, Jarrett (Jessica); great grandchildren, Jason, Jean Marc, Jules, Hunter, Dylan, Heather, step-great granddaughter, Layla, Kayson, Avery; brother, Arthur (Jessica), Arichat; sister, Idella Duyon, Sydney; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Lenus; brothers, Lawrence, D'Entremont, Anslem, Patrick; sisters, Estelle, Lillian; granddaughter, Charlene. Mom was a fun loving, warm-hearted, kind, patient and lovable person. She always put others before herself and never expected anything in return. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many and always ready to lend an ear to anyone. She enjoyed the company of her family, extended family and many friends. Some of her favorite enjoyments were cooking, knitting, embroidery, pencil coloring and dancing. Because of her love of dancing, we are certain that she is now reunited with Dad and that they are happily dancing up a storm with a Two-step up in Heaven. Visitation will be held Tuesday in C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9. Mass of Christian farewell will be held in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat, on Wednesday afternoon at 2pm with Rev. Michel Exalant officiating. Burial to take place in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery in Arichat at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation (NS), The Kidney Foundation (NS) or to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat. To send words of comfort to the family or to light a candle in memory of Eleanor, please visit www.chboudreau.com
