Obituary of Willard Joseph George

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Willard Joseph George, 85 of Arichat in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Thursday October 6, 2011. Born in Janvrins Island he was the son of the late Clinton W. and M. Elizabeth (Forgeron) George.
A quiet, peaceful man, loved deeply by his family and respected by all who knew him. His outstanding mechanical skills were Willard's trademark. He held a certificate of Qualification in the Motor Vehicle Repair Trade; He received a certificate of Qualification for the Refrigeration and Air Condition Trade. Willard received the Residential oil burner Installation and servicing trade certificate. He also became a certified Oil Burner Mechanic. Willard completed the requirements under the Education of the Province of NS and he was granted the Vocational Teachers certificate class I for teaching in the Public Vocational Schools of NS. He taught small motors and welding in the Isle Madame District High School. Upon retirement he was awarded for 18 years in this service. During this time Willard was also responsible for the school maintenance, including the heating system. In 1948 he married Lorna Britten and they had a family of six; Noreen Brennan (John), Elaine Boudreau (Odilon), Lloyd George (Johanna), Arlene Hillier (Lloyd), Geralyn Thornhill (Frank), and Imelda George. He also leaved to mourn sixteen grandchildren; Kelly, Erin, Bridget, Adele, Chantal, Aleasha, Myla, Micheline, Matthew, Lisa, Nadia, Kyle, Keagan, Jennifer, Sarah, and Jacob. Great grandchildren Eric, Jillian, Alex, Ethan and Ellie and Riley
his sister Gertie McGrath. He was predeceased by brother Joseph Clancy, sisters: Cecelia McGrath and Mary Lillian Landry
Visitation will be held in C.H. Funeral Home in Arichat on Sunday October 9th from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass to celebrate Willard's life will take place Monday October 10th at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Arichat. with Father Will Macpherson officiating. Burial to follow in the Our Lady of Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Our Lady of Assumption Cemetery Fund or a charity of one's choice. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat , Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.chboudreau.com.
