Condolences
Thought and prayers as we near the first anniversary of your passing. You were so much to so many. Not the same around the Legion.
it is hard to believe that it is already a year since Ralph joined his loved ones in heaven. He is still part of my life as I remember little comments as things happen every day. Peace be with you as you mark this first anniversary. Roger
Ralph was my mentor with veterans. I learned so much from him and values his thoughts, opinions and friendship. I truly miss him. Ralph, I salute you.
I was shocked last evening to hear that Ralph had passed away,my deepest sympathy for your loss.I had many dealings with Ralph over the past twenty-four years in my position as treasurer of St. John's Church. Ralph took great care to see that the graves of his fallen comrades were properly cared for. He continually worked to gather information and preserve history to ensure they would not be forgotten. He will be missed.
To Lorna,Gerard and children, I'm so deeply sorry for the lost of Uncle Ralph. He was truly a caring and compassionate man to whom ever he met. He left such a deep imprint on our lives and we will cherish those memories within our hearts forever. I never met a man that had such a positive outlook on life and enjoyed living it every second of each day. I'm going to miss him so very much. My family and mother loved him deeply. His last words to me were "always remember the Uncle from the East Coast" and that l promise you his memory will always be deep rooted in my heart.Your family and his grandchildren were blessed to have him in your lives. He loved you all so very much. We talked about you all often in our conversations and he was extremely proud of his granchildren. I know in my heart he'll will be watching over all of us in heaven along with my sister Theresa. I can honestly say he was my own personal hero. I bragged about him to everyone, i was so proud for everything he had accomplished in his life. He helped out so many veterans and their wives. He fought long hard hours and years to get what they rightfully so deserved. I'm sure he's going to be missed by many.I know my mother and my family is going to. I'm going to miss his joyful laugh most of all. I LOVE YOU UNCLE RALPH We will be all united again some day, until than save me a seat. Just one more time i have to write. Love your favorite niece, Lisa. Take care of each other and be strong. I know that is what he would want for all of us.

Saddened by the loss of a naval friend and comrade . Enjoyed our many chats about our naval days . A super bartender that could quell the behavior of the rowdiest with just a stare or the pointing of a finger . His devotion to the veterans and their dependents was evident in his monthly reports presented to the branch. I shall miss bringing your favorite naval caps from Florida . May the main jib of your ship provide smooth sailing towards your new home. An expression of sympathy to all the family .Comrade Gordon and Idella

The Roberts family. I'm so sorry to hear of Ralph's death. He was the first person I met at the Legion on my arrival in Cape Breton. He presented me with an application and we were very good friends after that. Ralph was a man among men and will always be remembered as the man who did so much for Branch#150 and everybody associated with it as well as everybody he met. He will be forever remembered and may he rest in Peace. Bob (Woody) Woodman

To the family and friends of Ralph: It is with shock and sadness that I send this condolence note. I don't think the reality of Ralph's death will sink in until I return home in April to the empty rocker and place at the table. He has been such a big part of my life for the last number of years, another member of the family. Ralph always told you what was on his mind, but if he thought he offended or upset you in any way, he would not feel right until he made amends. His kindness and generosity could not be matched. One had to be careful not to mention something you wanted in front of him, because he would show up with it the next day. He was a very special man, one of a kind. My thoughts and prayers will be with you as you go through the next few days and weeks. Peace and love always, Roger
Our sincere condolences and prayers go out to the Roberts family for their loss. Ralph was a gentleman and a tireless advocate for veterans rights. He fought many a battle on their behalf and his work has not gone unappreciated by the veterans and their families. It was always nice to sit and chat with him at meetings and events. We are very thankful to the great amount of time and work he gave to the Royal Canadian Legion. He has left a legacy and large shoes to fill. Sleep well my friend. AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN,AND IN THE MORNING,WE WILL REMEMBER THEM. Jack Hopkins,President,Branch 47, St. Peters RCL

You should all be very proud of a life well lived, his service to country, community, and most of all you, his family. God bless you all.

Ralph's many phone calls to Brianne made her day, she always lit up when her Pepe would call, they would talk about what was going on with her at school and he always would make sure she was okay. Isle Madame and Louisdale have lost a powerful figure head in the person of Ralph Roberts His dedication to Veterans was outstanding. They were his family of friends and he cared deeply for their welfare. Ralph was a source of information and had contacts that he never shied away from sharing.St. Anne's Community & Nursing Care Centre was the recipient of his caring and organizing. When Ralph spoke of the R.C Legion he would emphasize with pride "Branch 150." This is the Ralph Roberts I will remember. In future we will all feel the loss where Mr.Roberts served so diligently. My sincerest sympathy to Theresa, his children and families. May he rest in peace. Lorna George and family.
To Walter, Bonnie, Lorna, Russell, Michael and families, To say that today is a sad day is an understatement. Uncle Ralph was a true humanitarian who taught us all how to treat others with respect and always stand true to our beliefs. He served his country proudly and he had a great impact on the Veterans, not only on Isle Madame but Canada wide. To sit and talk with him was like having a personal history lesson each time. He was a family man who never had anything but time to hear about how all of our families were doing, how jobs were going etc and had the gift to make all us feel special. I hope he realized how special and important he was to many of us. Rest in Peace Uncle Ralph. Love Gail, Greg and the Boys
Ralph was a remarkable man with great energy and commitment to the welfare of his fellow human beings and in particular veterans and those who served in the military. We grew up in the same part of the country and both enjoyed time in the Royal Canadian Navy, sometimes on the same ship, although in different departments. Ralph never failed to stop and chat and perhaps share a story about old times. He was indeed a comrade and a generous soul and gracious shipmate. He will be missed.
