We were so sorry to hear about Lloyd. Our families in Sydney and the Bourinot's were special friends. We spent many happy hours with them in Arichat and Sydney when we were children. Our sincere sympathy to you Marie and family and to Marion, Cline and Laura and families. We loved the music.
To Marie and Family, it is with sadness that we have just learned of the passing of Lloyd. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you to help ease the pain you must be enduring at this most difficult time. We shared many pleasant moments with Lloyd during our tenure at Cornwallis and that is what we remember. May God Bless you and give you the strength to go forward with your lives.
Dear Bourinot Family, we are so sorry for your loss. Lloyd was such a great man. We have so many great memories from our sea cadet days & time spent down in Cornwallis. Lloyd was a good friend to my dad & mom for many years, My mom was always so tickled that he would pronounce her full name correctly. One year mom convinced Lloyd to bring a big old arm chair from Cornwallis all the way to Arichat, so she could refinish it. He kindly did so. He was a great man with a big heart & a big laugh. We cherish our memories. We are thinking of you & sending much love & strength.
Sorry to hear of Lloyds passing. He will be missed by all who served with him and by those of us who called him friend. We just heard today of his passing, would have attended his service if had known.

Dear Marie and Family, my sincere condolences during this difficult time. I first met Lloyd in the early 80's at the HMCS Acadia and enjoyed several summers thereafter training with him and his guidance was always welcomed and appreciated. His leadership came naturally to him. Even today I carry his words of wisdom, he was a role model and admirable mentor. My thoughts and prayers are with you now and the days ahead.
Our sincere prayers and condolences to the Bourinot families. Lloyd was well liked, and will be greatly missed by everyone.

Marie & Family. Our condolences on the passing of Lloyd. He was a very good friend of our family through the Sea Cadet movement and will be missed by many.
Dear Marie and Family, so very sorry to hear of your loss, he was a great guy to "negotiate" with (and against! sometimes). I will remember him and enjoyed his marine stories and boating experiences during the short time I knew him. We worked together, yet from different angles for the Cadets at Cornwallis. My thoughts are with you at this time. Steve
I was saddened beyond words to hear of Lloyd's passing. Like so many of you, the memories are many, and they are filled with comradeship and laughter. I always enjoyed listening to Lloyd's stories... he could always make you smile. I also realized that he was someone I could turn to for advice or assistance whenever it was needed. He always had time for me, and for that I am truly grateful. Whether it was riding together to Halifax for a Ceremony of the Flags meeting, or a chat standing at the bar in the officer's mess at Cornwallis, Lloyd always had something interesting - and amusing - to say! For me, and I'm sure many others, he was and will continue to be, an integral part of the fibre of HMCS Acadia. Marie and Janelle, I extend my deepest condolences. Rest assured that his contribution to the youth of our country was a remarkable one. You can take comfort in knowing that Lloyd's life touched and influenced others in a positive way... What more then could one ask for? Rest in peace, Lloyd.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

During the tough times, please take comfort knowing that I will always consider Lloyd one of my greatest mentors. He took me under his wing and made me the successful person I am today, taught me a sense of community and honed my abilities as a leader. I am greatful to have shared his life with you.
To the family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I first met Lloyd many years ago when we shared a taxi cab from Ottawa to Trenton after being "bumped" from a Service Air flight enroute to a cadet camp course. I still remember how much of that ride was spent listening to Lloyd sharing wonderfully funny tales. Over the years, our paths have crossed from time to time while working with cadets and I was saddened to learn of his passing. Lloyd made a real difference in the lives of so many and he will be truly missed by all those whose lives he touched. Hopefully that knowledge and your many memories may provide comfort to you at this time of loss. Colonel Douglas W. Butt, RCAF

I was very sad to learn of Lloyd's passing. When I think back about the days when he was the Cornwallis cadet liaison officer that included looking after the needs of RCIS in late June. It was Lloyd who made our programe for 180 people a success. In our younger days we were at KES together and that made for a lot of good story telling with the staff. My deepest sympathy and my thoughts are with you.
Marie and Family Very sorry to learn of Lloyd's passing. He and I shared many a conversation over the years. His dedication to the cadet movement will be remembered. Sincerely, K arl and Marie
Dear Marie: We are truly saddened to come to know of Lloyd’s passing. Lloyd was always really helpful in instigating ways to make the Cadet Programme safe and fun for Sea Cadets. Lloyd never hesitated to solve any other inherent challenges presented along the way. He was a great help to me. We are thinking of you and send our heartfelt condolences as you deal with your loss. E
My Sincerest Sympathy to all the members of Lloyds Family! He had so many good friends and admirers, and he will be greatly missed by all! I remember many things about Lloyd, but the thing I remember most of all, was that he seemed to be a natural born Entertainer, and he seemed to love the role. It was never dull when Lloyd was around!! He had the gifts of music and song; and to top it all off, he had a little twinkle of mischief, that added a touch of magic, and raised the level of excitement and pleasure for those he entertained. It was a pleasure knowing him, and may he now Rest in Peace!
We have many fond memories of HMCS Acadia and when talking of sea cadet camp there was never a time when Lloyd's name didn't somehow come into the conversation. He was a man that left a mark on alot of young people over the course of his time there. Our deepest condelences to Marie and family.
On behalf of the President and all Shipmates of the Admiral Desmond Piers Naval Association I wish to express our most sincere regrets at the 'Crossing of The Bar' of Commander Lloyd Bourinot. We wish him Fair Winds and Following Seas. "Bravo Zulu Lloyd. May you Rest in Peace". Shipmate Larry Truelove ADPNA Chaplain .

Marie and the Bourinot family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. We have great memories of Lloyd at HMCSAcadia and afterwards at The Park. Mike as NL Branch president Spent with discussing things to benefit the cadets as well as remembering old times as Officers at Acadia. As the spouse I got to know when I got involved as a female supervisor for the corp at the Boatshed. R.I.P. Lloyd.
Sorry to hear of Lloyd's passing. I was a fellow student at K.C.S. during the early 50's. He was a little ahead of me. I remember him as a tall, thin boy (much like me) with great sense of humor. As we were all known by our last names only, he picked up the nick name "Brown Owl". Glad to hear that he went on to have a great interest and association with the Cadet movement....probably picked that up at "254 King's College School Cadet Corps" of which I became the C.O. in 1953. If he was ever a member of K.E.S., it was because he was one of those who made it 'through the fence' (protective apparatus) to see the girls at Edgehill! They were separate schools at the time. Anyway, my condolences to all.
My sincere sympathies to Marie and to Lloyd's children and grandchildren. I will always remember him as a kind and gentle person. He always made the people around him smile. Heaven's gain is this world's loss. RIP Commander Bourinot ♥
Marie, On behalf of myself and the Prince Edward Island Division of the Navy League of Canada I wish to express our sincere condolences to you during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Lise Munger

Dear Marie and Janelle, My heart sunk this weekend when I heard the news of Lloyd’s passing. I have been thinking of him constantly over the past few days. I have spent a lot of time thinking about my nickname for him – “Dad” - and I realize that it was probably not a nickname that I alone called him. I think that Dad created special relationships with everyone he crossed paths with and it saddens me to think that there are others that will not have that experience. On the other hand, I believe that Dad left all of us, those whose lives he touched, as his greatest legacy. I was very fortunate to have met Dad when I was a 16 year old course cadet and even more fortunate to have had him take me under his wing weekend after weekend at Shearwater and at “the Shed”. I think that many of the qualities that are best about me are, in large part, a result of the relationship that we shared at a time when I was figuring out what kind of man I was going to be. Dad seemed to have a 6th sense – he knew exactly what people needed and was able to give it to them selflessly. I am truly grateful for the times that I got to share with him. Please know that our thoughts and prayers and with you both. Craig and Jane Smith and Family Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong
