Obituary of George Samson

Samson, George Alexander - 87 of Little Anse, passed away March 2, 2012, at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston. Born in Little Anse, he was a son of the late Frederick and Josephine (Boudreau) Samson. George was a member of the Little Anse Social Action Centre and also a member of the New Horizon's Senior's Club in Arichat. He enjoyed dancing and a good game of cards. George was a beloved uncle, brother in law, cousin and friend to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 37 years, Elizabeth "Liz" (Samson); daughters, Paulette (Wendy Parker), Guelph, Ont., Audrey (Vladimir Galindo), Attleboro, Mass.; sons, Gary (Olga), Guelph, Ont., Dean (Karyn Burke), Dartmouth, Stephen (Cindy), Arichat; grandchildren, Melanie, Melissa, Marcus, Julian, Taylor, Elèna, Connor, Luc and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Eden, Auguste and Lucas; sisters, Bernadette Clannon, Little Anse, Delima Weissant, Petit De Grat, Lorraine Forster, Sackville, Isabelle Tandy, Dartmouth, Dorothy Morrison, Little Anse; special sister in law Denise Samson, Guelph, Ont.; brother, Rudolph (Virginia), Louisdale. He was predeceased by his first wife, Gertrude (Babin) ; son Mark; granddaughter Michelle Samson; sister, Alma Boudreau; brothers, William, Lawrence, Henry and Oswald. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in the C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 4 - 8 p.m. Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of George, will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. in St Joseph's Church, Petit De Grat, officiated by Rev. Angus MacDougall. Burial will be held in the Star of the Sea Cemetery in Petit De Grat at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (NS), Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of choice.
