Obituary of Pastor Walter Mitchell Lawrence

Lawrence, Walter Mitchell Sr. - 79, Arichat. Walt entered the presence of the Lord on April 26, 2012. Walt was born and raised by his maternal grandparents in Philadelphia, PA. He is survived by his wife Gerri of 46 years, children, grandchildren and siblings who live in the United States. Walt attended Dobbins C.T.E. High School, served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on February 19, 1954. Walt owned and operated a Gulf Service Station in Pennsylvania. After trusting Christ as His Savior, Walt attended Bob Jones University for his Bible training and was then ordained at Bible Baptist Church in West Chester, PA. During Bible training Walt and his family ministered at summer camps in Nova Scotia. At that time Walt believed God wanted him to serve Him on Isle Madame. In 1986 Walt and Gerri began serving the Lord in children's ministries. Walt pastored Arichat Bible Church which was established in April of 1995 until his time of death. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, May 21, 2012 at New Horizon Seniors Center, 2372 Highway 206, Arichat, Nova Scotia. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to World Vision or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat.
