Obituary of Dorothy Marie Boudreau

Boudreau (Forgeron) Mary Dorothy 96, Halifax formerly from West Arichat has passed away peacefully on June 21 at Maplestone Enhanced Care with family by her side. Born in West Arichat, she was the daughter of Jeffrey and Florence (LeJeune) Forgeron. She left home at an early age to work, living in Saint John, Halifax and Montreal where she lived for 15 years. At the request of her father she returned home to care for him and her mother as they were aging. She did just that until their passing. When Mom returned to West Arichat, she met her husband Clifford and they raised two children, while running a small convenience store for a short time. She did many charitable acts during her life, but always wanted it to be anonymous. She enjoyed travelling visiting her children wherever they resided. She enjoyed knitting, reading, dancing and having friends over for a meal. She was devoted to her children and family members. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150 Ladies Auxiliary for many years, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47,member of the New Horizons Senior Citizen's Club, as the 1st Vice President & Director for the Club in 1990. She also helped raise money by having card games at her house to rebuild the Immaculate Conception Church in West Arichat. She is survived by daughter Zelia(Wade) Marchand, Fall River and son James (Charlene), and grandchildren Shanna, Lana(Ryan) and Shari, great grandchild Koston all from Alberta; She is also survived by her sister, Helen Landry, West Arichat; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford (1980); sisters, Zelia Edwards and Evangeline in infancy; brothers, Wilfred, Clarence, Edmund, Hubert, Albert, Edward, and Abraham. Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, 633 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Arichat on Monday, June 25th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held in Immaculate Conception Church in West Arichat on Tuesday, June 26th at 10 am. with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery. A special thank you to the staff of Maplestone Enhanced Care for the kindness and care given to Mom, especially Ringdale Court. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, Red Cross or any charity of your choice.
