Obituary of Leon Pierre Paupin

Paupin Pierre Leon - 91 West Arichat, , passed away peacefully on Nov.2, 2007 in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born October 30, 1916 in Arichat , he was the son of the late Peter and Mary Elizabeth (Gerard) Paupin. He was a lighthouse keeper in West Arichat for many years. He served in the Canadian Army for 3 and half years, he received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and a 39-45 war medal. He is survived by his wife Mary Stella Fougere, Louisdale; daughter Amelia ( Donald ) Joshua, West Arichat, Anne Marie ( Roy) MacPhee, Antigonish, Foster daughter, Joanne ( Andrew ) Meunier, West Arichat sons Leon Jr. ( Louise ) , Cape Auguet, Charles ( Noreen ), Daniel both of West Arichat,15 Grandchildren, 2 Great Granddaughters. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by sisters: Lavina Fougere, Lorraine Doiron, Lena McAuley, Evangeline Doiron and Jeanette Meunier, Step Sister Ida Mae Ranson. Visitation will be held 7 - 9 pm on Sunday, and 9:30 - 1:30 pm on Monday. in the C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, West Arichat, with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, West Arichat Members of the Isle Madame Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150 are asked to meet at the Funeral Home at 12:45 p.m. fto attend a Legion Tribute at 1:00 p.m., for their late comrade Leon Paupin.
