Obituary of Irvin Ernest Drummond

DRUMMOND, Irvin Ernest - 80, Louisdale. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who passed away April 28, 2013 at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Alexander McRae and Mary Linda (Clorey) Drummond. He was a retired member of the Boiler Maker's Union, Local 73. Irvin is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Anita (Sampson) Drummond; daughter, Diane (Lance), Dartmouth; son, Steve (Chrissy), Merrimac, Mass; brothers, Gordon, Halifax and Dave (Andrea) Short's Lake; grandchildren, Shauna Boudreau (Billy Covey), Halifax, Alicia (Brenden) Shea, Sackville, Alison and Ethan Drummond, Merrimac, Mass; great grandson, Noah Shea, Sackville; Irvin is also survived by best friends, Romeo and Maria Centenaro, West Bay; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Irvin will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. He was predeceased by his son, Dennis Alexander and brother, Dennis. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2nd from 10 am till 1:30 pm in the Glen Sampson Room in Louisdale. Mass of Christian Farewell to celebrate the life of Irvin will be held on Thursday afternoon, May 2nd at 2 pm, in St. Louis Parish Church, Louisdale with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial to follow in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale. The family would like the thank Dr. J.A. Collins and the nursing staff at the Strait Richmond Hospital for the excellent care given to Irvin while he was a patient there. Also a special thank you to all our friends and the community as a whole for the telephone calls, food and for showing how much you care. Your thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.
