Obituary of Blaise Cyril Boyd

Blaise Cyril Boyd, 83, of River Bourgeois, Nova Scotia, died in St. Martha's Hospital as peacefully and quietly as he lived, with family and friends at his side. Left to remember him are his loving wife Deirdre (nee Mahon), his daughters, Jennifer (Derek) Gowanlock , Joanne (John) Otley and Allison (JF) Beaulieu and his grandchildren; Katie & Nick Beaulieu and Olivia & Amelia Gowanlock. Blaise, the sixth of eleven children, joins his parents William Fraser & Mary Ellen (née Bourque), his brothers Gerald, Fraser (died in infancy) & William Fraser, his sisters, Monica & Casilda Daly and his nephew Vernon. He will be greatly missed by his surviving siblings, Peter, Lucille (Ed) Bradshaw, Peggy, Betty (Wes) Johnson and George (Norma), his sister-in-law Katherine Ann, his nieces and nephews, cousins in the Boyd Clan and Bourque Family and dear friends. Though quiet by nature he laughed loudly; with a laugh that was a family trait and extremely infectious. A man of few words, he did like to make up little sayings, which were a continuous source of amusement. The father of three daughters he was a true example of 'Mr. Right' being a devoted husband to 'Dee, his wife and idol of his life', for 47 years. Visitation will be held Friday, May 31st, 2-4 & 7-9pm in the River Bourgeois Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 1st, 11am in St. John the Baptist Church River Bourgeois, burial in church cemetery. Reception to follow at the Tara Lynne Community Centre. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Strait Richmond Hospital and the PCU of St. Martha's Hospital for the exemplary care they gave Blaise and the companionate support they showed his family.
