Obituary of Mathilda Mary Boudreau

BOUDREAU, Mathilda Mary- 95, Port Hawkesbury, formerly of River Tillard. It is with heavy hearts that we announced the sudden passing of Mathilda, which occurred at her residence in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home on Friday, June 7, 2013. Born in River Bourgeois she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Burke) Landry. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Choir for many years and was very active with activities surrounding the church. Mathilda ran the Post Office in River Tillard and was the Post Mistress for 25 years from her home in River Tillard. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She will be sadly missed by her sons; Alfred (Marie), Halifax; David (Maura), Grand Gully; Francis (Karen), Vancouver; George (Barbara), St. Peters; Terry (Margie), St. Peters; Lloyd (Marilyn), French Cove; Michael (Annabel), St. Peters; Gerard (Donna), Red Islands; daughters; Eleanor (John), River Bourgeois; Barbara (Victor), St. Peters; 29 grand children; 41 great grand children; 6 great-great grandchildren and 5 great step grandchildren and daughter-in-law Gail. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew; son Ronald; grandson Kirk and step grandson Edward. The family would like to thank the staff and management at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home for their care and support given tor Mathilda, during her stay at the home. Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the River Bourgeois Funeral Parlor, River Bourgeois. Mass of Christian Farewell will take place at the St. John the Baptist Church, River Bourgeois on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m with Rev. Dennis Lamey officiating. Cremation will follow. Internment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the St. John the Baptist Church Building Fund.
