Obituary of Billy Samson

Samson, Gerard William "Billy" - 53, Rocky Bay formerly of Petit De Grat, passed away at St. Anne Centre, in Arichat on July 5, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Petit De Grat, he was the son of Hubert Hyacinthe and Mary Mable (Boudreau) Samson, Brampton, Ontario. Billy was employed at Radio Richmond and enjoyed every minute. He worked also at the Call Centre in Port Hawkesbury for 7 years. He loved his music and playing drums. He was the drummer for the bands, Night Moves and Boogies Corner which he loved. Billy will be missed by family and friends near and far. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie David Samson; daughters, Melissa Samson (Derek), Petit De Grat, Angela David (Joel), Port Hawkesbury, Kelsey David (Nathan) and Carley David (Joel) both of Rocky Bay; grandchildren, Levi William Boudreau, Evie Rose Carr and Lilah Elizabeth Coté; brothers, Teddy Samson (Tammy), Brampton, Ontario, Kenneth Samson, Dayton, Texas and the late Debbie Proctor Samson; Nieces Amanda and Tasha and God children, Tara McInnis and Dylan and Daniel Samson; special friends, Trudy Samson, Billy Joyce and Jean Boudreau. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Amedee and Catherine Jane Boudreau; paternal grandparents, Francis and Florie Samson; and uncle Réné Benoit. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat on Monday, July 8th from 2 - 9pm. Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday morning July 9th at 11 am in St. Joseph's Church in Petit De Grat with Rev. Andrew Gillies officiating, burial to follow in the Star of the Sea Cemetery in Petit de Grat. A reception will be held following the committal at the Irish Club in Rocky Bay. Memorial donations can be made to Radio Richmond. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Martha's Hospital, QE11, St. Anne's Centre, Strait Richmond, Palliative Care, Dr's.
