Gerrior, Joan Flora - 81, Port Hawkesbury formerly of West Arichat, passed away at her residence in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home on August 7, 2013. Born in Rocky Bay, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Alma (Latimer) Keating. Joan is survived by daughters, Gladys (Sandy) and Glenda (Charlie); sons, Stephen (Collette) James (Rhonda); grandchildren, Becky, Cristal, Sarah, Jessica, Danielle, Santana and Brady; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Riely, Raven, Vivian, Landon, Matthew, Megan and Alex, Ryleigh and Hayden; brothers, Rudolph, William and George; sister, Buelah. She was predeceased by her husband, Ambrose Simon "Chief"; grandson, Devin; granddaughter, Shelby; brothers, James and Gus; sisters, Kathleen and Mary. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday August 30, 2013 at 11:00pm in Immaculate Conception Church, West Arichat with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial to be held at a later date.Reception to follow in the Acadiaville hall, West Arichat. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society (NS). Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H.
