Obituary of Mary Evelyn Martell

MARTELL, Evelyn Mary - 89, Little Anse. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Evelyn on January 13, 2014 at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born in Petit De Grat, she was the daughter of the late John and Lily Jane (Fougère) Boudreau. She is survived by her son John Martell (Palmire) of Little Anse, her brother Gerald (Mary Louise) of Alderney Point and her sister Josephine (Andrew) of Samson's Cove; grandchildren Neil (Francine), Joey (Dawn), Nathan (Darlene) and Michelle (Michael); great-grandchildren Jayden, Karyne, Nikita, Jeremy, Carrigan, Lucas and Gracyne. She was predeceased by her husband Peter; brothers Godfrey, Felix, Lawrence, Emile, Charles, Wilfred and Clifford; sisters Gertrude, Regina, Eva May, Sabine Rose and Deltina. Evelyn was mischievous and quick-witted. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, embroidery, playing bingo and cards. She was known for her meat pies, Christmas doughnuts and cherry cheese squares. Visitations will be on Wednesday, January 15 from 7:00 to 9:00pm at the CH Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday January 16 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Petit De Grat with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating.
