Obituary of Fred Cornelius Bona

Bona, Fred Cornelius -79, L'Ardoise, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2008 at home in L'Ardoise, with his loving family by his side. Born on July 28th, 1928 in L'Ardoise, he was a son of the late John T. Bona and Mary Beatrice (Landry). He was a Member of the Holy Guardian Angels Church, L'Ardoise. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sophie Beatrice ( Evong ); sons, David ( Gladys ) Bona, L'Ardoise, Billy ( Margaret) Bona, L'Ardoise, Donald ( Bernadette) Bona, Sampsonville; Stanley (Michelle) Bona, L'Ardoise;; daughters, Patricia Ann (Daniel) Landry, River Bourgeois; Madeline (Joe) Boyle, St. Andrews, Hazel (Doug) Samson, Dartmouth; 14 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren; He is also survived by half brothers: John (Sam) Bona , Halifax; Richard ( Sylvie ) Bona, Montreal, Angus (Sandra ) Bona, Rockdale, Tommy ( Ann Marie ) Bona, L'Ardoise, and one half sister Mary Blanch (Georgie) Martell, Rockdale, and Aunt Irene (John) Middleton, Sydney; Many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step mother, Lena (Martell), 3 sons in infancy and a sister in infancy. Visitation will take place today in the Holy Guardian Funeral Home in L'Ardoise from 4-9pm, and on Tuesday from 9:30 am �" 1pm. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Fred will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2p.m. in the Holy Guardian Angels Church, L'Ardoise, with Rev. Barrett Clare Johnson officiating. Burial to follow in the Holy Guardian Angel Parish Cemetery in L'Ardoise. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H.
