POIRIER, Maurice Emerand - 76, Halifax, formerly of Poulamon, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2008, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Poulamon, he was a son of the late Bonaventure and Leonie (Fougere) Poirier. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Zita Ida (Young) Poirier; sisters, Doris Fougere, Halifax; Connie Fougere (Venard) Poulamon; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Tina LeBlanc, and a brother in infancy. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Maurice will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in St. Hyacinth Church, D'Escousse, with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth Parish Cemetery in D'Escousse. Reception to follow in St. Hyacinth Church Multipurpose Room, D'Escousse. Memorial donations can be made to Parkinson Society Canada.
