Condolences
DEAR FAMILY
Today is the anniversary of your mother's passing and with it comes many emotions. I know only to well the pain and sense of loss to you all. Emily was one of those individuals who readily gave of herself and loved you all so dearly. As a teen coming to Louisdaleto hangaround with the Marchand boys she readily opned her heart to me many times. I recall her offering me meals and many words of encouragement.
She was truly a wonderful soul who was the best example of what a true christain person should be. You have all exhibited the same qualities as you mother.
May God continue to bless you all with his holy spirit and ever presence of your Mom's guiding light.
God Bless
Kevin Linden

My heartfelt symphony goes out to all her family and friends, there are no words that I can say to help ease this pain. You are in my thoughts and prayers, I had the opportunity to see you on May, 25, 2014, and even thought you weren't feeling the best, you still were trying to feed us, like you had done so many times, while I was growing up in Lousidale. You were such an amazing, kind woman and you always made me feel welcomed in your home, thank you for that Emily, hugs and kisses to you all, just know that she is watching over all of you, If we were to define Classy, your name would be in the definition, none like no other. Emily, Leonard, Pauline & Rudolph Landry & Peter & I use to go dancing at the Caladonia almost every week when we lived back home. We use to have such a wonderful time dancing, laughing and sharing great stories. We would go to Pauline & Rudolph's house after the dance, make western sandwiches or something else and share jokes, stories & much more laughter.
Emily was always good at making us laugh. She would tell stories with a straight face and then we would burst out laughing. We made many memories back then until we moved to Ontario.
We still kept in touch with them, either when we visited Louisdale every other year and when we would see each other we would remember the good old days.
Emily had a heart of gold, she was funny, thoughtful, caring, helpful, loving and most of all, she was a great friend. I saw Emily at Baraco days last October and again, she was laughing as she always did, hugging me like she always did.
Her daughters Janice & Debbie became close friends too. Especially Debbie for reasons which are close to our hearts & very funny.
I have a VHS of a "Over 40 Pagaent" in which Emily was a Princess Contestant. I have to say she was a great trooper. She was very nervous, but did it anyway. My sister Jeanette was also a Princess in that pagaent, and since her death, I am able to watch the Video (had them transfered to a DVD) and feel like she is with me. I always laughed to the point of tears watching Emily when she sang, "Flying on your Own" Emily was lip singing, but was set up when the microphone was put on. Emily did not know at the time and was trying to sing the song herself with a very unusual voice. When she found out after her song was over, she just laughed it off. That was Emily, a great trooper, up for anything and enjoying whatever was being done.
Emily: You fought a battle of a lifetime, you surpassed hurdles with your illness for years in which many people would have given up. You continued to live your life laughing, helping others, being kind & helpful, funny, courteous, giving, loving everyone you came into contact with, especially your family. Your body got tired and so you decided to do as the song you sang. You are, "Flying on your Own" You are no longer in pain, have no more bandages, needles, doctors poking & probing you, no more medications or doctors appointments. You are FREE TO FLY WITH THE ANGELS as you so well deserve.
You will forever be in our hearts, never forgotten. We will love & miss you, cherish the memories, until we meet again.
I am sure you are making lots of people laugh up there, organizing a good game of bingo or card game and we hope you are enjoying it.
Our wish for your Family, is that the memories, love & joy you gave, will give them comfort in the difficult days ahead.
Leonard, Janice, Debbie, Carol, & All Emily's Family: Please know we will be praying for you all as we did for Emily, that God gives you peace & comfort in the many days to come. Remember, she is not with you in spirit but is still such a big part of all your hearts now & forever
R.I.P Our Deerest Friend, until we meet again.
We love & will miss you.
xoxoxo.
I met Emily through the Marchand Family a number of years ago growing up in Sydney and travelling each weekend to Louisdale. Emily was a person who always made it a point of asking me how I was doing or asking about my family.
I never forgot popping in from time to time with a message from my father saying hello and her offering something to eat or a place to stay. She was a very kind and considerate person who loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed. To Carol, Debbie and Janice my deepest condolences and to Leaonard you have an angel guiding you always.
Take Courage.
Deepest Sympathy.
Kevin Linden

Leonard, Janice, Debbie, Carol, Delores,Johnnie,Wilfred, Eleanor & All Your Families: Peter & I were very saddened to hear of Emily passing. We know she fought a great battle with her illness for many years. She was an inspiration to many for she never complained or let her illness control her life. She was able to do many things that most people in her situation would not have done. She finally became very tired of fighting and went to be with her Lord in heaven. She is the angel watching over you all, as the song she sang goes, "Flying on your own" Emily IS flying on her own, with no more pain, no more doctors to pick & probe, no more trying to get better. Emily is at peace & free to do whatever. We will miss you our friend, we will never forget you & will cherish the memories we made together. Our wish for her family is that they remember the Beautiful, Loving, Kind, Considerate, Funny, Thoughtful & Generous lady Emily was. We pray her memories bring you all peace in the many days ahead. Thoughts & prayers going out to you all. She will forever be in our hearts & never forgotten. R.I.P. Emily (Our Dear Friend) Love: Peter & Linda, Brampton Ontario Hugs & Kisses to you all.
