Obituary of George Melvin Stevens

Stevens. George Melvin, 69 - It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle, who passed away on June 27, 2014 at home in Potlotek. Born in Barra Head, he was the son of the late Noel and Isabel (Morris) Stephens. He is survived by his daughter, Melanie Ann Dennis, Eskasoni; grandchildren, Derek, Darla, Rory, Liberty and Evan; three great-grandsons; sisters, Irene Gould and Therea Stephens both of Potlotek; nieces Paula (Jay) Marshall, Shelley (Levi) Denny, Blayne Murray;nephews Rob Andrews, Chris Andrews, Jaret (Angela) Murray, Jonathan Andrews and Bren Murray several great nieces, nephews and God children. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Levi; and sister Rosanne Murray. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, July 3rd at 6 pm until Saturday morning July 5th at 10:30 in St. Kateri Tekakwitha Chapel in Potlotek. Mass of Christian Farewell will be held Saturday morning, at 11 am in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Barra Head. Burial to take place in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery, Barra Head. A Salitè will be held following the committal in the Potlotek Community Hall. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H.
