Obituary of Leo Francis Mac Neil

MacNeil, Leo Francis - 74, River Bourgeois, passed away suddenly in the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on January 14, 2015. Born in Barra Head, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Mathilda (Boudreau) MacNeil. Leo was employed with Breton Petroleum Ltd. and was a member of the Lawrence Kavanaugh Council 14280, St. Peter's. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Judith Ann "Judy" (Pottie) MacNeil; sons, Bradley Christian (Lorrie), Rockdale; Todd Leo (Andrea), Sampsonville; and Shawn Michael (Andrea), Stony Plain, Alt.; grandchildren, Ainsley, Thomas, Anna and Tyson; brothers, John (Audrey), Dartmouth; Joseph (Margaret), Barra Head; and Blaise (Claire), Creignish; sisters, Sr. Veronica MacNeil, Calgary, Alta,; Helen MacDonald, Soldier's Cove; and Rose DiPeriso (Bruno), Barra Head. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Mary Mombourquette and Bernadette MacNeil. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 21, at 11 a.m., in St. John the Baptist Church in River Bourgeois with Rev. Dennis Lamey officiating. Burial to take place at a later date in St. John the Baptist Parish Cemetery, River Bourgeois. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
